About

Behind every successful event is a high-pressure environment, where teams are managing complex logistics, shifting expectations, and increasingly diverse human needs in real time. Yet many of the challenges the industry faces today, from attracting and retaining talent to managing behaviour and maintaining standards, are due to the shifts in societal norms and new expectations.

In this session, Alice Macleod, developmental psychologist and expert in human behaviour, leads an intimate and interactive discussion exploring how expectations around work, communication and experience have fundamentally changed. Drawing on insight into generational shifts, post-pandemic behavioural patterns, and the growing recognition of neurodiverse needs, this session will unpack where pressures are emerging and why traditional approaches are no longer landing.

Together, we will explore how motivation, validation and reward are being redefined in a high-demand industry, and what this means for leading teams, managing behaviour, and creating environments where people can perform at their best.

This session is designed for shared reflection, offering practical, human-centred strategies to support both workforce and attendee experience. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how to respond to changing expectations, reduce friction in high-pressure environments, and design event experiences that work for the people delivering and attending them.
